Training

JLPSC is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association and is a recognised RYA Training establishment. The Club runs regular training courses on our yachts for Competent Crew, Watchleader and Coastal and Offshore skipper, using both our own and some external RYA qualified instructors and assessment from independent RYA Examiners.

We are now taking bookings for our RYA Competent Crew / Day Skipper courses.  

2024 course dates are:
15th – 19th  April 
29th April – 3rd May 
3rd – 7th June 
17th – 21st June 
1st – 5th July 
22nd – 26th July 
12th – 16th August 

9th – 13th September
14th – 18th October 

Partner fees (including additional discount card holder)  
RYA Competent Crew – £375
RYA Day Skipper – £385 including certificate 

Guest fees 
RYA Competent Crew – £575 
RYA Day Skipper – £585 including certificate 

All candidates must be over 18 at the start of the course.

We will be adding in RYA Yachtmaster prep week and Exam sessions over the next few weeks.
